Ximena Abarca

Ximena Abarca is a Chilean/ Australian singer/ songwriter and music teacher.

She started her Music and Dance studies at the age of 15 in Santiago, Chile.

In 2003 she initiated her carrer on T.V and radio after joining a Singing Contest and winning the first place.

This experience gave her the opportunity to record her first album with Warner Music Chile and to perform at the biggest festival in Latin America, Festival de Vina del Mar.

Since then, she's recorded 5 albums. Two of them as a soloist, Punto de Partida (2004) and Pro/vocacion (2006), along with three albums as part of two different projects; Ruch (album 3.0, 2009) and her current band Huanchaco, (Arrhythmia, 2015 and Communion, 2016).

Last summer Huanchaco did its first tour overseas in Chile and New Zealand which was well received by the audience. They are currently recording a full length album.

Ximena moved to Australia in 2010. This has been a great adventure for her, especially because here, she discovered her passion for teaching music.

Ximena has been working as a Guitar, Piano and Singing Teacher for primary schools. Parallel to that, she has been running her own business giving: Singing workshops, Spanish through Songs for Kids workshop and private music lessons, with great feedback from her students.

In 2019 she started leading the youth choir Voices Unbound by The Boite.
